Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities

Location: Michigan

Grant Amount: $100,000

Groundwork is an established Michigan-based non-profit that has pursued transformational work to protect the environment, strengthen the economy, and build thriving communities since 1995. With support from the Rural Climate Partnership, Groundwork aims to tackle the opposition to renewable energy in rural Michigan by engaging with local communities and organizing effective grassroots campaigns. Groundwork empowers residents to actively participate in local energy decision-making, to help positively influence zoning policies, clean energy siting decisions, and shift the outcomes of local rural electric cooperative board elections.
