Colorado Agrivoltaics Learning Center

Location: Colorado

Grant Amount: $100,000

The Colorado Agrivoltaics Learning Center (CALC) is pioneering the integration of solar generation and agriculture, debunking the myth that renewable energy and farming are incompatible. In partnership with RCP, CALC is initiating a groundbreaking project to apply its agrivoltaic expertise to existing solar sites in rural Pueblo, Colorado, opening land access for low-income, predominantly Latinx farmers. This first-of-it’s-kind project offers a unique opportunity for farmers to supplement their income and community food supplies, on existing solar farms – supporting local farming communities that face historic barriers to land ownership and leasing opportunities.
