Beneficial Electrification League

Beneficial Electrification League

Location: Georgia

Grant Amount: $125,000

The Beneficial Electrification League (BEL) is a non-profit organization committed to accelerating electrification programs that address climate change, reduce energy burdens for low- and moderate-income consumers, and foster a resilient grid. In 2022, BEL launched the Weatherization/Electrification Together Initiative. The project, which involved deep home energy retrofits in rural communities in California and Georgia, resulted in significant reductions in energy burdens for homeowners. Building on the success of this initiative, and with RCP’s support, BEL will scale its equitable energy transitions work and provide steep energy savings for rural Georgians, with a particular focus on environmental justice communities.
